Enfield/Yanmar Clone throttle setup

Post by Riggo »

I am doing a enfield/yanmar clone conversion and have got to sorting the throttle, my clone has the fixed speed regulator, does anybody know where in the uk I could get the remote variable speed regulator assembly, I've tried my engine supplier Pumps UK without luck and yanmar require part numbers . Also does anybody have any pictures of how they have set up the regulator with the enfield decompressor lever so it can be used to stop the engine

thanks

Mine had the fixed speed part too, plus I didn't like the way any of them were set up so I made one with a dual rate spring setup. It is very tunable and gives a nicer idle and throttle feel. If you have a milling machine it isn't all that difficult. Image

Try G.F.H. Services (YANMART) , Castle Howard Road , Easthorpe , Malton , North Yorkshire , YO17 6QX . TEL/FAX 01653 693608

they are Yanmar parts agents ,also do used parts .
On my bike the engine is stopped using a cable connected to the governor lever . The cable has a loop on the end and goes over the lever this is how I got the engine so I must assume (although not always a good idea ) is standard on a Polaris D-BAT quad .
If you need pictures of the various speed controls and how to set them there is a pdf file on the yahoo groups link , in the FILES section ,its the Yanmar Service Manual .
