Re: new yanclone bike with SP200 tranny and GS450 frame

motor has arrived and (barely) fits in the frame before any tweaking! (note, the orientation here is backwards-- I'd originally planned on driving the transmission on the right side of the bike through a modified clutchcover, though i'm now working on driving it on the left side through where the st...

Re: new yanclone bike with SP200 tranny and GS450 frame

hey guys, I've gotten my buddy Seb to send me a few pics he's taken of this project so far ... Until I get around to tweaking the images you may want to right click on each one and open these in a new window... I can't seem to find pics of the original GS frame, but seconds after finding a trashed S...

Re: air filter of china diesel

I would assume so, but I don't know anything about your foam filter (nor how much oil its been bathed in). What size engine did the foam filter come off of? That should give you an idea of how well it should flow. I, personally, will only be looking for automotive or truck air filters when I've got ...

Re: Need members advice, thanks

I had a pair of grips just like those on my old (borrowed) KZ900, then on a CB750 that I rode for a short while, then on my CB550K until it got rapidly parked in the backseat of a Mazda that darted out into traffic. Totalled that bike to insurance, kept the grips. Have no idea who manufactured them ...

Re: air filter of china diesel

Nope. Since diesels don't have to run (nor do you want to run them) anywhere near a stoichiometric ratio, there's no such thing as getting "too much air" unlike a gas engine running too lean. (I'm sure someone will nitpick with this statement, but I'm too lazy to give edge case scenarios.)...

Re: new yanclone bike with SP200 tranny and GS450 frame

Ahh, yeah, I guess it would be a bit of a ride from N. Texas all the way down here.... As for the speed thing, one of my friends (who may be arguably insane) has been driving her max-30/40 mph scooter back and forth from galveston to houston to austin for the past couple of years and has managed to ...

new yanclone bike with SP200 tranny and GS450 frame

Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking for a while and scheming about building all kinds of diesel bikes for a while but I've finally gotten off my ass and picked up an engine and found a (semi-) suitable tranny. Got an '80s GS450 missing a head and tons of other bits (but had a ...
