How about a hatz single cylinder engine, from what I understand they are much cheaper than a chopper motor and you can get service anywhere in the world. You could try a yanmar vertical shaft or a different type of chinese V-twin and mount it onto the motorguzzi's gearbox. I dont know how you would ...
