Re: HDT Military Diesel Bike
Diesel, kerosene, JP4, JP5, JP8 are all variations on the same theme with slightly different characteristics, therefore I assume they'll all be injected the old school Diesel way.

Re: CVT Behavior right or not?
Yep. I add a link to a video that describes my primary quite well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu1wHxevyOQ The bearing I referred to is described in the first minute of the video. In the Track the mentioned fingers are removed to make of the 1-way bearing a 2-way bearing so I can very easily rol...

Re: CVT Behavior right or not?
I'm not familiar to your bike but having a Track T800 CDI myself with CVT, I know that In my system ( originating from snowmobiles ) there is a one way bearing that for the use in my bike is removed ( only the "one way part, not the bearing ) to prevent just that problem. Mentioned bearing is t...

"The power transfer problem" is a very personal perception.
For I'm concerned the only excisting real power transfer problem is the lack of rubber after another 40.000 km.

The company behind http://schurgersdesign.com/nl/project/polyester-kuipdelen/ says on it's site that they were involved in designing the panels and making a "null" series. You can contact them by mail on info@schurgersdesign.com and ask if they still do something for the bike. 1 "but&...

Re: Merc Smart CDI Oil consumption and cambox breather.
Cambox breather on a Track T800CDI connects to a point just below the airfilter, all on the RH side of the bike. Tubing from there to the turbo and between turbo and engine are allways somewhat "oily" so i guess that a light mist will be present. No refill neccesary in 20.000 km so oil con...

If you're into minor modifications you can always try the stile of the drivenbybacon bike.
It started it's life as a T800 CDI, but looks "slightly" different.

Engine ECU is on the lefthand side just below the tank with the connector on the back side. Possibly the generator regulator on the same mount as the ECU, at least on my bike, others have the regulator below the seat somewhere. Ignition wiring as well as obvious headlights and handgrip heating also ...

Front wheel mudguard is KTM for sure, afraid the rest is custom to the bike. Bike drives well though without plastic.
Tank repair is possible by soldering, but I personally have no experience in such yet, gonna give it a try on the headlight fairing soon.

Nope, no problem in that corner for me. Just for info, I had the same issue with the quantity indication ( dropping from full to empty between 230 and 330 km ) when I bought the bike but Erik managed to solve it within workable range. Now my gauge starts dropping from 7 dashes to 6 after about 260 k...

Re: Ural-Daihatsu
If the waste gate leaks a bit by means of little play on the pivot point ( like it did on my charade ) = easy to solve by adding a little spring to pull the play to 1 side. This increased my plenum pressure from almost 0.6 to 0.7 bar. Adding a slightly stronger spring, let's say 2 kgf increases pres...

To be certain if your pump is similar to my Daihatsu car pump I'll need a picture of it. I don't recall my '92 car engine having a something to improve cold start like the old vw's had. But I admit that on the áround '86 TD engine that's currently in my garage waiting for some project ( probably wil...

Re: Smart CDI Intercooler. yes or no?
I drove total 390.000 km with mine, minor cracks between valve seatings but they did not cause a problem.
Maybe there's some play on the waste gate control lever, adding a light spring to the waste gate lever till it reaches 0.7 bar is quite easy.
And warm her up slowly when driving.

Re: Smart CDI Intercooler. yes or no?
I used to drive a Charade TD in my car, built a intercooler on it just for the fun of it cause for my driving stile it was absolutely useless, drive like a Granny. Only the extra volume that went into the inlet system caused the car to respond a bit quicker, at that time the intercooler was in place...

Re: Smart CDI help please
Inside the Track fuel tank is an electric fuel pump, as far as I know not a high pressure pump but just enough to pass on fuel to the high pressure one.
As long as the entire fuel quantity in your tank to be is above the high pressure pump inlet I don't thing you'll need a electric one at all.

I don't know what a standard Smart ECU will do without all kinds of stuff that's on the car but will not be on the bike, like a gearbox. It's designed to talk to the gearbox, what will it do if it does not get it's desired answers?

Standard Smart flywheel, but enlightened to make it more responsive ( I guess ) and/or also give more space to the CVT.

The "almost" Smart diesel engine in my 90.000 km old Track T800 CDI is standing straight up. Oil reservoir custom made for the bike by the manufacturer. I think that using the Smart CDI in a K100 will work great IF you'll manage to get a ECU for the basic engine without all sensors that ar...

On my 2 gasket jobs on the Daihatsu I used the original bolts. Yes it's high torque but the diameter is quite large, so to be honoust I never thought of replacing the bolts. Re: Water-cooled engine - odd symptoms
Hoi, Some years ago as a nici DIY job I partly overhauled such a engine, oversize pistons, valve slider things etcetera. Mine cyl head at that time also had ( to my opinion ) big cracks between the valve seats, but the garage was not impressed at all, told me to put it together as was and see what h...
