Vw to ural adapter
I’m looking for bellhousing drawings for the ural. I have the technical drawings for the vw already. Any clue where to find the ural drawings?

Re: Two kohler diesels on eBay
I think the Polaris ranger side by side /utv uses this engine. Food for thought.

Re: Using a steering quickener for shaft drive
Hmm that was an interesting link for intermediary and final drives. It actually has me thinking that perhaps the one pic was a final drive direct connected to the gearbox to output a chain drive. Perhaps a different final drive from a bmw or Honda (different ratio options) . If a quick change differ...

Using a steering quickener for shaft drive
Hello all, I’ve had an idea I wanted to float here. I have a dnepr k750 and I’m thinking of using a 1.5 or 2.0 :1 steering quickener to up my rpm to the shaft drive. I’m guessing I’ll need to fit a small oil reservoir like maybe a handle bar mount master cylinder attached to it to keep it lubed and ...

Re: Yanmar 2TN66 ThermoKing TK-235
Okay I'm converted. All bow to kubota. I've been reading build threads and tech articles by using keyword z482. I think I found one from you where you asked about internal crank balancing. It seems these are the perfect middle ground between the 10 yan or clone and the 3 banger kubota. Yes I know th...

Re: Yanmar 2TN66 ThermoKing TK-235
I'll look into those. They seem a little more bulky but I assume the same pump mods to make variable speed is still an option. That starter is huge and negates the filter relocation. But I'll search the build threads. https://www.ebay.com/i/222568925839?chn=ps&dispItem=1&ul_ref=http%253A%252...

Constant speed governing perhaps would be a better description.

There seem to be quite a few of these around. I'm guessing they are governed and need pump mods? Is the sump able to be swapped conventional yanmar oil sump/pan?

Re: Harley sportster crankcase hacked for tranny?
I would not use the sportster for the conversion as there are better bottom ends made by HD that would be more likely to stand up to a diesel top end Thanks for the replies, but why would the sportster not be a good candidate? I would have thought the more narrow profile of the sportster primary wo...

Harley sportster crankcase hacked for tranny?
I'm sure there are a few Harley guys that can answer this, but otherwise all suggestions are appreciated. I'm seeing quite a few 91-early 2000's Harley sportster frames about. The sportster unlike the evo and later "ultima" styles employees a crankcase design with the engine and trans cast...

Are clones just as good?
I’m familiar with clone gas engines (most being Honda clones), but not so much with diesel. I’m in the United States and we do not see nearly as many Yanmar engines as elsewhere in the world. Typically a clone is an almost exact copy of an engine design, but as we know the quality of the assembly, t...
